Shortly after returning home with our new baby girl, we discovered that Josh was on the way. Two babies, ten months apart...I was exhausted to say the least. One morning, after sending my two older boys off to school, I put Josh down for a nap. Unfortunately, Hannah had zero interest in napping that morning. I convinced myself that it would be fine if I closed my eyes for 15 minutes. I made sure that Hannah had toys to keep her busy and then climbed into bed, laid my head on the pillow, and closed my eyes. It couldn't have been two minutes before I felt drip...drip...drip....on my cheek. I opened my eyes and saw Hannah standing next to my bed, grinning from ear to ear, as she waved her magic wand (aka the toilet brush) over me.

One of these things...
When I saw this photo I thought of the Sesame Street song...
One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?
Did you guess which thing was not like the others?
Did you guess which thing just doesn't belong?
If you guessed this one is not like the others,
Then you're absolutely...right!
On occasion the folks at Sesame Street would shake things up
and use a different version of the song.
There was this version...
Three of these things belong together
Three of these things are kind of the same
Can you guess which one of these doesn't belong here?
Now it's time to play our game (time to play our game).

Hair Day!!
I have been talking about doing Hannah's extensions myself forever. I can do twists and basic braids and puffs myself but the extensions scared me to death. On Sunday at 4:00 pm I decided to give it a try. We spent an hour taking out the extensions she had in and then started braiding in the yarn. It took just over 4 hours but I did it!! They aren't as tight as I would like them and the parting isn't the greatest but practice makes perfect. Hannah was really excited and insisted on 2 pony tails the second I finished the last braid. I love the yarn...it is so soft and it is so much lighter in weight than the synthetic hair we have had in the past.

Over the river and through the woods....
Last Saturday we spent the day at "Great's" house helping to plant flowers in her yard. This has become sort of an annual get together (2nd year running) for our family. I should note that her yard is dang near perfect...I am not kidding...most weeds do not dare enter...the weeds that are brave enough to enter adapt into what looks like exotic flowers!!! Grammy has spent over 35 years tending to her yard and the love she has put into it shows. I have incredibly fond memories of playing and climbing trees in her back yard. I am so grateful my kids are going to have those memories also. After the flower planting we had a BBQ. Uncle Bruce grilled the best burgers and hot dogs my kids say they have ever had and after lunch the kids proceeded to talk Bruce's ears off...thanks Bruce, the kids absolutely adore you and are still talking about what they are calling their "Uncle Bruce Time". Uncle Reid gave some great pointers on growing cucumbers, and Aunt Sue makes a mean potato salad and can toast a bun to perfection.
We love all of you and can't wait for next year!!!
memory noun, something a person remembers, the ability to remember
